Job summary

Montana State Fund seeks a Claims Attorney to ensure the state's workers’ compensation system remains fair and responsive. You will represent MSF and its policyholders with thoughtful litigation strategy, clear legal analysis, and high-quality advocacy across multiple forums.

Based in Helena with occasional remote work, you will partner with claims examiners and internal stakeholders to shape litigation strategies, interpret Montana statutes and case law, and provide practical guidance that

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree required.
• Licensed to practice law in Montana.
• Interest in Montana workers’ compensation laws.

Responsibilities

• Represent MSF in active litigation before multiple forums, including state courts and commissions.
• Collaborate with claims examiners to develop and implement litigation strategies, including discovery, witness interviews, and motions.
• Provide strategic legal guidance to internal clients; interpret statutes, rules and decisions daily.
