Job summary

The E-J Group is seeking a Claims Assistant to support the Vice President of Risk Management & Compliance and the Claims team. The position is based in Long Island City with 5 days in office.

You will manage claims, maintain files, perform data analysis, and generate reports while gaining exposure to general liability, auto, and workers' comp claims. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of work experience is a plus, but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational & multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge/experience of insurance/workers comp is a plus.
• Not afraid to ask questions; ability to foresee needs and provide solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of company-related claims, including responding to legal requests, subpoenas, etc.
• Create and manage claim and compliance files – both digital and hard copies
• Learn to navigate insurance claims: general liability, auto, and workers' comp
• Fulfill subpoena requests

Position Description:

E-J is seeking a Claims Assistant who will work closely with the Vice President of Risk Management & Compliance and will work alongside the entire Claims team. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, has a strong professional foundation, and is comfortable taking initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of company-related claims, including preparing responses to legal requests, subpoenas, etc.
• Creating and managing claim and compliance files – both digital and hard copies
• Comfortable and able to learn how to navigate insurance claims: general liability, auto, and workers' comp
• Fulfill subpoena requests
• Creating reports
• Data analysis
• Monitor and act when needed on prequalification software
• Updating internal databases
• Administrative support when needed

Salary Range:

$80k-$90k/year
