Job summary

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Assistant for a US telecommuter role. You will support the claims staff, handle clerical tasks, and assist with data entry, scheduling, and reporting from a remote location in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Inputs and reviews notes/diaries in claims management system as instructed.
  • Answers and initiates telephone calls, sets up medical appointments, and may provide customer service as required.
  • Other activities/projects as assigned including the preparation and distribution of computer reports.
  • Set up, assign, reassign, and reopen claims within the claims management system.
  • Maintain claim data, including policy, coverage, date of loss (DOL), date of birth (DOB), and account information.
  • Process letters, along with other claim-related correspondence.
  • Upload and manage claim documentation, including legal files, policy documents, and medical records requests.
  • Process settlement payments, expense invoices, returned checks, and vendor setup requests.
  • Respond to general emails, phone calls, auditor requests, and other stakeholder inquiries.
  • Generate reports, including loss runs and other claims-related reporting.
  • Review and enter claim notes, diaries, and other information into the claims management system.
  • Perform general administrative duties including mail processing, filing, scanning, faxing, and report distribution.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Claims Assistant
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: To provide support to the claims staff and to perform other office tasks depending on the client program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing: Six (6) months of clerical or customer service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $15.00 per hour. A comprehensive benefits package is offered including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, 401k and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending or health savings account, and other additional voluntary benefits.
