Job summary

Allied World in Farmington, NM seeks a professional to investigate, evaluate, and resolve insurance and reinsurance claims across multiple lines of business. You will support underwriting, finance, accounting, actuarial, operations, and technology through collaborative projects and timely, accurate claim handling.

The role requires a university degree, up to 3 years claims experience, strong writing and negotiation skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently manage a vigorous caseload of claims involving a broad spectrum of accounts and coverages.
• Analyse claims on multiple lines of business.
• Review incoming documents to verify coverage and establish case reserves and where necessary Additional Case Reserves (ACRs).
• Promptly investigate matters, analyze coverage, and draft accurate and timely coverage correspondence.
• Verify financial information and process payment requests with reinstatement offset where appropriate.
• Manage litigation by effectively interacting with insureds, brokers, defense counsel and other parties as required.
• Instruct and collaborate with counsel regarding litigation strategy and claim resolution.
• Negotiate and resolve claims within scope of delegated authority.
• Represent Company in resolution of claims and participate in legal proceedings, including mediations.
• Conduct claim reviews at ceding companies when requested.
• Interact with underwriters concerning renewals, prospective accounts, and individual claims.
• Meet with existing or prospective insureds and brokers.
• Liaise with other departments as required and provide assistance when needed.
• Prepare claim summaries, executive reports, and other management reports as necessary.
• Generate various reports as required and work on special projects as needed.
• Attend and/or present at relevant industry conferences/meetings.
• Assist with claims-related queries in internal and external audits.
• Work with reinsurers as needed

The actual base pay for the position may be above or below the listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but not limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one component of Allied World’s comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.Our generous benefits package includes: Health, Dental and Disability Insurance, a company match 401k plan, and Group Term Life Insurance.
