  • Maintain organized claim files in the agency management system with reports and notes.
  • Prepare loss runs, claim status reports, and related documentation for meetings.
  • Monitor claim activity and follow up on outstanding items for timely resolution.
  • Assist with claims analytics and reporting to identify trends for account teams.
  • Participate in workflow improvement and team projects to enhance efficiency.

Overview

Description

The Claims Advisor position is responsible for supporting the claims function within the firm, focusing on efficient processing, documentation, and client service. The role works closely with the EVP of Claims to ensure timely communication, accurate recordkeeping, and smooth coordination between clients, carriers, and internal teams. The Claims Advisor delivers high-quality claims advocacy by handling administrative tasks, monitoring claim activity, and providing responsive support to clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day support in the handling of commercial property & casualty claims, including intake, documentation, settlement negotiation, and claim status tracking.
  • Assist in the review of claim notices, coverage documents, and correspondence to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Serve as a point of contact for routine client inquiries related to claims, escalating complex or urgent matters to the EVP of Claims.
  • Coordinate with carriers, adjusters, and third-party administrators to obtain claim updates and ensure timely processing.
  • Maintain accurate and organized claim files in the agency management system, ensuring all correspondence, reports, and notes are properly documented.
  • Prepare loss runs, claim status reports, and related documentation for client meetings and renewals.
  • Monitor claim activity and follow up on outstanding items to help drive timely resolution.
  • Assist with claims analytics and reporting to identify trends and provide insight for account teams and clients.
  • Participate in workflow improvement initiatives and contribute to team projects that enhance efficiency and client service.
Requirements / Skills
  • 3–5+ years of commercial property & casualty claims experience, preferably within a brokerage, carrier, or claims advocacy environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial lines coverages, including property, casualty, and liability.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and the ability to learn an agency automation system.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organizational skills required.

Salary

Salary Range: Dependent on Experience
