Responsibilities

1. Adjudicate assigned claims in accordance with the Terms & Conditions of the individual pet’s policy
2. Review medical records, lab results, invoices, and claims forms for complete and thorough assessment
3. Process claims determinations to include assessment and payment for submitted claims
4. Verify claims coverage through in-depth knowledge of policy Terms & Conditions
5. Consult with treating veterinary practices regarding medical records evaluation and necessary documentation
6. Maintain an average quality assurance score above department minimums
7. Complete assigned tasks within compliance deadlines
8. Maintain an average productivity rate above department minimums
9. Provide feedback on process opportunities to further strengthen SOPs

Required Skills

1. Comprehensive understanding of disease processes and veterinary medical terminology
2. Ability to read and interpret veterinary medical records and invoices
3. Ability to identify chronic and acute medical conditions
4. Adapt quickly in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and operate multiple computer systems simultaneously
5. Work independently in a remote capacity, while also fostering teamwork and collaborating with others
6. Superior communication skills for collaboration with team members and support from managers
7. Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to work through complex medical/vet-related scenarios affecting a pet’s diagnosis and/or treatment plan

Qualifications

1. Minimum of five years experience as a veterinary technician
2. Bachelor's degree in veterinary science OR CVT or equivalent preferred
3. Property and Casualty Adjuster license in good standing preferred
4. Complete and pass state adjuster licensing
5. Be reliable with good attendance
6. Able to work a minimum of 42 hours per week, with occasional weekends and extra hours as needed

2. A quiet, dedicated place to work in your home that is not easily disrupted by background noises or distractions
3. Office workspace must be large enough to accommodate two 19” dual monitors, laptop, mouse, keyboard, and headset
4. Ability to set up and connect (with instructions and remote IT team assistance) equipment that is shipped to your home
