Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions seeks a Claim Supervisor for Auto Physical Damage on a hybrid schedule supporting multiple offices, including Plymouth, MN; Denver, CO; Canton, MA; New York City, NY; Chicago, IL; Alpharetta, GA; Irvine, CA; Southfield, MI; and Boston, MA. You will supervise claim representatives and guide handling of complex claims end-to-end.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years Auto Physical Damage claims experience with 1–3 years supervisory

• Strong understanding of claims handling, coverage evaluation and settlement processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensures execution of claim handling strategies and appropriate determinations of coverage, liability and damages.
• Monitors reserving activity for policy compliance and analyzes trends in claims data.
• Reviews recommendations for claim disposition including evaluation, negotiation and settlement.
• Monitors vendors and independent adjusters to ensure service quality.
• Manages staffing levels and performance management for direct reports.

The opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for a Claim Supervisor to join our Specialty Auto Physical Damage team based in our Plymouth, MN; Denver, CO; Canton, MA; New York City, NY; Chicago, IL; Alpharetta, GA; Irvine, CA; Southfield, MI, Boston, MA offices on a hybrid schedule. The Claim Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of claim representatives, both inside and/or outside to ensure appropriate claim handling and outcomes. Develops plans, analyzes results and oversees daily work of direct reports. Reviews and provides technical direction or recommendations on claims of various complexity and exposure. Monitors claim quality, customer feedback and claim reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer satisfaction and achievement of objectives. May do the work of subordinates as required. Some of the Claim Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supervises day-to-day activities and priorities of claims staff including the management of claims assignments and ongoing guidance of specialty claim files.
• Ensures execution of claim handling strategies; including appropriate determination of coverage, liability and damages.
• Monitors reserving activity to ensure compliance with corporate policy.
• Reviews and documents recommendations for claim disposition; including evaluation, negotiation and settlement of claims in excess of staff authority levels.
• Reviews and analyzes claim reports to identify and address trends. Recommends strategies to correct adverse trends.
• Monitors vendors, independent adjusters and appraisers to ensure service quality.
• Manages unit staffing issues; including ensuring appropriateness of staffing levels, creating, implementing and monitoring of performance management activities for direct reports.
• Identifies skill gaps of staff and establishes appropriate training needs. Develops and delivers effective training and cross-training plans.
• Stays abreast of state license requirements for staff and ensures continuing education as required.
• Maintains a strong professional knowledge of regulatory and legal environments and applies this information effectively.
• Anticipates and meets all customer needs (internal and external).

The expertise you bring

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of Auto Physical Damage claims experience, with 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
• Heavy Equipment damage claims is a plus
• Commercial Auto damage is a plus

Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires; however, your recruiter will provide more specific compensation details during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $90,000 - $127,000, based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Washington DC; our Massachusetts based offices and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $113,000 - $132,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include but not limited to:
