Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range for this position is a nationwide market range, reflecting salaries across the country. The actual salary will depend on factors such as role scope, complexity, location, skills, education, credentials, and experience. Employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentives as part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program.

Salary Range

$48,700.00 - $80,400.00

What Is the Opportunity?

This position is fully remote, possibly involving mobile work and/or work from your primary residence. It covers the Baltimore, MD territory, so residence in that area is required. This is an entry-level position requiring successful completion of training to advance to Claim Professional, Outside Property. The role involves investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving claims of lesser value and complexity, ensuring quality claim handling throughout the claim lifecycle. It includes customer contact, coverage review, investigation, evaluation, reserving, negotiation, and resolution, with compliance to quality standards and regulations.

What Will You Do?
  • Complete required training combining online, virtual, classroom, and on-the-job learning, which may require travel.
  • Handle 1st party property claims of moderate severity and complexity.
  • Establish accurate damage scope and utilize estimates for damages.
  • Investigate and evaluate relevant facts, including coverage, damages, liability, and business interruption.
  • Establish claim and expense reserves accurately and timely.
  • Determine settlement amounts and negotiate within authority limits.
  • Write denial letters, reservations of rights, and other complex correspondence.
  • Assess damages, manage damages using evaluation tools, and meet quality standards.
  • Maintain claim diaries and manage file inventory for timely resolution.
  • Handle claims in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and refer claims to specialized units when necessary.
  • Perform administrative functions and respond to workforce management needs.
  • May attend legal proceedings as needed and maintain required insurance licenses.
  • Capable of physically inspecting damaged structures, including climbing ladders safely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
