RLI Corp. is seeking a Claim Examiner-Casualty Property Damage in a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL (with opportunities in Atlanta, Alpharetta, GA).

You will proactively handle third-party general liability claims, focusing on property damage, to deliver fair and expeditious resolutions. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or related field and at least 3 years of relevant experience; a law degree is a plus.

• Proactively handle third-party general liability claims (including some bodily injury, but with an emphasis on property damage claims) to achieve optimum payout results
• Assess and analyze coverage issues on claims, and issue appropriate coverage letters and documentation
• Complete timely investigation of claims and post appropriate reserves
• Pursue risk transfer opportunities, including dealing with contractual indemnity and additional insured issues
• Handle claims in accordance with RLI's Best Practices
• Resolve claims in timely manner to an effective outcome

A law degree is a plus. # **Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies** -Meaningful experience handling general liability claims involving bodily injury and property damage.-Ideal candidate will have superior working knowledge of case law, statutes, and procedures impacting the handling and value of claims.-Proactive investigation, risk transfer, claim handling, attorney management, and claims resolution are essential.-Superior writing and communication skills to work effectively with insureds, claimants, underwriters, other team members, and upper management.# **Compensation Overview**### The base salary range for the position is listed below. Please note that the base salary is only one component of our robust total rewards package at RLI. The salary offered will take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications/credentials, talent availability & specialization, as well as business needs.
