Job summary

Brown & Brown, Inc. is seeking a Claim Associate to join our growing team.

This remote Maryland role supports the Claim Department with administrative and coordination tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing for insureds, brokers, and carriers. You will help manage data in the claim management system, assist with audits and reports, and coordinate with internal teams and external partners to keep claims moving smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 3–6 years of progressive experience in claims administration/support or insurance operations.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance claim workflows and terminology.
  • Experience with claim management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage priorities.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Experience supporting audits, reporting cycles, or client-facing deliverables preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for administrative and operational claim inquiries, resolving issues independently when appropriate.
  • Monitor Oxford’s claim mailboxes, prioritizing, handling, and distributing mail as appropriate.
  • Enter, review, and maintain data within the claim management system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal standards and service level expectations.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute written acknowledgements and routine claim correspondence to insureds, brokers, captive managers, TPAs, and fronting carriers.
  • Assist with the development, preparation, review, and quality control of internal and external reports, loss runs, and management summaries.
  • Monitor and manage communications and documentation from fronting carriers, ensuring proper routing, issue identification, and follow-up.
  • Perform document handling tasks including redaction, quality review, document indexing, DocuSign workflow creation, and secure distribution.
