- Ensure that all Individuals are treated with respect and dignity and that their rights are upheld.
- Oversee all services provided to Individuals to ensure quality of life, safety, and best opportunities for growth.
- Maintain open communication with the Program Specialist, day program, family members, and other stakeholders regarding Individual needs and progress.
DSP Supervision & Staff Management
- Manage Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and all activities within the Community Living
- Arrangement (CLA).
- Ensure DSPs complete their job responsibilities and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and conduct monthly meetings with DSPs to review updates, expectations, and changes in care.
- Participate in interviewing prospective DSPs and make hiring recommendations.
- Conduct or assist with DSP performance evaluations at least annually.
- Participate in required staff certifications and oversee DSP skill development.
- Review and authorize time sheets/time clock entries as needed.
Training & Compliance Oversight
- Assist the Program Specialist and training department in coordinating DSP training on DPW 6400 Regulations, site-specific procedures, and agency policies.
- Coordinate all required DSP training and certifications with the training department, including communication strategies for verbal and nonverbal Individuals.
- Conduct site-specific orientation and training for new DSP hires.
- Ensure CLA sites, documentation, and DSP practices meet DPW 6400 compliance requirements.
- Serve as a key operational support during licensing inspections, audits, and corrective action processes.
Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness
- Ensure DSPs are trained in site-specific Fire Safety, Evacuation Procedures, fire drill responsibilities, and emergency meeting locations.
- Oversee ongoing reviews of fire safety procedures, fire equipment locations, smoke detector maintenance, and fire alarm operation.
- Ensure staff understand procedures for notifying the local fire department during emergencies.
Medical Coordination & Health Records
- Manage and coordinate Individuals’ medical, dental, vision, and follow-up appointments, ensuring DSP support and/or transportation as needed.
- Oversee the maintenance of health-care records in the HIRS system and ensure compliance with HIPAA.
- Ensure daily review and accuracy of medication logs; conduct medication observations, MAR reviews, and on-site medication checks as required.
ISP Implementation & Documentation
- Participate in assessments, ISP development, annual updates, and revisions.
- Ensure ISP goals and interventions are implemented correctly and assist with training DSPs on ISP requirements.
- Monitor, review, and document Individual progress toward outcomes on a daily and monthly basis.
- Identify and report discrepancies or changes in Individual needs to the Program Specialist and leadership.
- Participate in required ISP-related meetings (QEST, team meetings, medical reviews, etc.).
- Manage and reconcile home financial accounts, including food, non-food items, gas, and Individual funds, with biweekly audits.
- Oversee overall upkeep and cleanliness of the home.
- Ensure all maintenance requests are completed in a timely manner and according to 6400 regulations.
- Maintain required mileage logs.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.
- Possess working knowledge of the Reliance Family Care Services Employee Handbook.
Administrative & Other Duties
- Attend management team meetings to support company strategies.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
- This position requires regular driving between sites. Maintaining a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record is an essential function of the role.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience overseeing Direct Support Professionals.
- At least 2 years of experience working with individuals in customer service, health/human services, or related business environment.
- Demonstrated experience supervising staff in a Direct Care Community Home setting.
- Ability to oversee employees responsible for the care, health, safety, and supervision of Individuals.
- Ability to read and understand English for interpreting medical prescriptions, instructions, policies, procedures, and other materials related to daily care and home management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Dependable team player with patience and a caring, professional attitude.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Health-conscious, organized, and able to maintain a clean and safe home environment.

Working Conditions
- Primarily based in program sites with occasional meetings in the main office.
- This role requires schedule flexibility, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call availability (on the weekends and after hours) as operational needs require.
- In emergency or staffing shortage situations, the employee may be required to provide direct support services or assist with shift coverage to ensure the health and safety of Individuals.
- May be required to drive the individuals to appointments or other events.
- Must be able to perform standard office tasks, including computer use, sitting, standing, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
