Job description

USI Insurance Services, a National Insurance Brokerage, is seeking someone who wants to make a difference in the Crop Insurance Industry. We are looking for an account manager that is experienced working with local and large Crop Insurance clients.


This position is open to remote work for candidates in California or Arizona.


This position is generally responsible for supporting the Account Executive through managing Crop insurance accounts as the day-to-day client contact; evaluation of workflow assigned documents; collection and submission of all crop insurance documents; data entry into Insurance Carrier systems; servicing the book of business in a fast-paced environment, customer contact, and providing clerical and technical support. Additionally, activities include new and renewal marketing, fielding questions and requests, and coverage review. Assist Sales Executives and Account Executives.


Responsibilities:

  1. Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned Crop insurance clients.
  2. Provide insurance technical expertise to clients and other members of the Account Management team.
  3. Responsible for marketing and placement of client Crop insurance renewals.
  4. With assistance from Account Representatives, prepare client applications for review.
  5. Determine most-appropriate carriers for market pricing.
  6. Analyze and compare carrier quotes and coverage offerings.
  7. Make insurance program recommendations to clients.
  8. Manage client renewal expirations and avoid any lapse in coverage.
  9. Negotiate with carriers on behalf of clients.
  10. Process policies, endorsements, and audits as needed.
  11. Champion client cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts.
  12. Represent client interests in internal USI account strategy meetings.
  13. Delegate administrative client tasks to assigned Account Representatives.
  14. Respond to underwriters’ questions in a timely and professional manner.
  15. Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management systems.
  16. Occasional in-person attendance at face-to-face client meetings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. 2-5 years’ experience in a Commercial Lines agency specializing in Crop Coverage. College degree preferred.
  2. Strong understanding of Crop insurance.
  3. Must hold an active Property & Casualty insurance license.
  4. Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
  5. Knowledge of Sagitta / ImageRight preferred, but not required.
  6. Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
  7. Keep informed about industry information, technology, and trends.
