Job description

CK Group is seeking a Business Development Manager to join a growing biotechnology company with cutting-edge technology.

This is a full-time, permanent role that is remote, with a preference for candidates based in MA, NY, or NJ. Fluency in English and Chinese is required.

Salary: $95,000 - $130,000 base + commission.

Position Summary: The Business Development (BD) Manager will have a strong understanding of business development and licensing, playing a key role in driving strategic growth and exploring new business opportunities for the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish external business opportunities for out-licensing, co-development, and other structured transactions.
  • Lead the development and presentation of business cases for prioritized external opportunities, including recommendations to management with robust analyses, key assumptions, and risks.
  • Initiate, lead, and present external opportunities with limited supervision.
  • Drive cross-functional due diligence and alliance management, coordinating with R&D, CMC, Clinical, Regulatory, Operations, and Finance teams, and serve as the main BD contact when necessary.
  • Manage BD operations and transactions, including proposals, negotiations, deal closures, and alliance management.
  • Contribute to defining and revising the business development & licensing strategy to align with overall corporate and portfolio strategies.
  • Represent the company at industry, investor, and partnering conferences; develop and maintain relationships within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • PhD in pharmacology, immunology, cancer biology, or related field in Biomedical Sciences is strongly preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in business development, R&D, or strategic planning within the life sciences industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of business development/licensing and pharmaceutical R&D.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills tailored to diverse stakeholders.
  • Effective interpersonal and project management skills in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English is required.
