Job summary

Convivial Life Communities in Venice, FL is seeking a Part Time Certified Nursing Assistant to assist residents under the Wellness Director and Licensed Practical Nurse guidance. You will support activities of daily living, promote independence, and interact respectfully with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, reminding about medications, hydration, nutrition, dining assistance, and participating in in-service trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification in good standing with Florida DOH.
• Current CPR certification required.
• 1+ year of experience in geriatrics in long term care, home health, or similar setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Asists residents with ADLs as needed and monitors safety.
• Provides in-house escort services to activities and meals.
• Provides guidance with telephone usage and helps with dining.
• Delivers meal trays and supports hydration and nutrition.
• Documents resident events and reports changes in health.

Job Details: Job Location: Jacaranda Trace - Venice, FL 34293, Position Type: Part Time, JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Wellness Director and under the direction of the Licensed Practical Nurse, the CNA provides direct personal services for residents. The CNA guides or assists residents with those activities of daily living (ADLs) that they are unable to perform without guidance, fostering at all times the residents independence and freedom of choice. The CNA respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors, colleagues and staff. This is a safety sensitive position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assures resident safety
• Provides personal services and assists with ADLs for residents as needed
• Provides in-house escort services to beauty shop, activities and meals

• Reports and records resident and resident-related events
• Assists residents during dining as needed
• Delivers meal trays to residents who are unable to go to the dining room
• Assists with medication reminders and hydration and monitors nutrition
• Assists with resident-centered activity programs
• Participates in in-service and educational trainings and programs
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job

ESSENTIAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

• Ability to read and write, follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate effectively in English.

• Pushing a wheelchair with a resident weighing up to 200 lbs.

Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification; current and in good standing with the Florida Department of Health
• Current CPR certification required
• One or more years of related experience and/or training in geriatrics in long term care, home health or other health care setting
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
