Job summary

The State of Connecticut, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) invites applications for a Staff Attorney 2 with CJIS-CT. The attorney will draft MOUs and DSAs, advise on legal and compliance matters including FOIA, and support data sharing initiatives across agencies.

Collaboration with state agencies and CJIS technologists will ensure data-sharing frameworks meet privacy and security requirements. A hybrid schedule may be available.

Qualifications

• Experience developing, interpreting, or applying MOUs and data sharing standards.
• Experience working with government agencies or criminal justice partners.
• Ability to ensure compliance with CJIS Security Policy and related laws.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate MOUs and DSAs with state agencies and police departments.
• Provide guidance on legal/compliance issues, including FOIA responses.
• Review legislation, assist CJIS‑CT subcommittees in analytics, security, and workflow.
