Job summary

York Law Firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Trial Attorney with 2–10 years of California civil litigation experience to develop into a confident trial attorney. The attorney will represent victims in elder abuse, neglect, wrongful death, and related matters, handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice to prepare for jury trials.

The role requires strategic thinking, disciplined preparation, and a commitment to professional growth.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and a four-year college degree.
• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Minimum four years of civil litigation experience in California state or federal courts; up to ten years encouraged to apply.
• Experience taking or defending depositions; jury trial/arbitration experience preferred but not required.
• Experience in elder law, business litigation, personal injury, wrongful death, or other complex civil litigation preferred.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, professional standards, continuous learning, accountability, and development into a civil trial attorney.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement case theories and persuasive narratives for trial readiness.
• Conduct and defend depositions; manage discovery plans with senior counsel.
• Prepare witnesses and argue motions; assist with trial themes and exhibit organization.
• Maintain deadlines, assess litigation risks, and move matters forward proactively.
• Collaborate with clients and team to translate harms into a damages presentation.
