Job summary

Ontivity, LLC is hiring a Civil Technician to support tower construction, antenna and line installations, and microwave work. The candidate should be capable of physically demanding tasks and travel across the company footprint, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities include equipment handling, site setups, and routine inspections while adhering to maintenance standards and safety guidelines. CDL-A is a plus but not mandatory.

Qualifications

  • General construction knowledge including equipment/machinery.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to learn quickly.
  • Basic rigging and safe handling of hand and power tools.
  • Must have valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a DOT physical.
  • CDL Class A certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical labor and operate tools and equipment.
  • Assist in loading/unloading equipment onto trailers.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment per manuals and maintenance requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a strong safety culture in the work area.

Company Overview

Ontivity is actively looking to add new members to our exciting and growing Team. We are currently seeking a Civil Technician. We would prefer experience in Tower Construction, Antenna and Line Installations, Microwave Installations, and Tower Modifications. Successful candidates can look forward to an Energetic, Family Atmosphere in a very prosperous and growing industry.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities
  • Perform physical labor; operate other powered and hand-operated tools in support of work activities, including tampers, compressors, generators, saws, pumps, shovels, hammers, wrenches, etc…
  • Assist in loading and unloading equipment onto trailers
  • Inspect, maintain, and clean equipment before, during, and after operation in accordance with the operator’s manual and other inspection and preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Establish and maintain communications and a strong safety culture with others in your work area
Personal Attributes
  • Must be willing to travel and be able to work within a non-structured schedule, i.e., long hours, weekends, etc.
  • Self-Motivated and able to learn efficiently
  • Team oriented
Supervisory Responsibility

A Civil Hand does not have any supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The physical demands and work environment described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Frequent work in adverse weather conditions
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, sit, and climb ladders and communication towers
  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
  • On a constant basis, employee must lift, carry, and maneuver heavy or awkward objects weighing 50lbs or more.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Daily travel within the Company’s geographical footprint and possible extended stays at external destinations. Travel time can be anywhere from three to six weeks at a time, with appropriate breaks.
  • Frequently required to use hand and power tools
Required Knowledge
  • General construction knowledge to include knowledge of construction equipment/machinery
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Basic Rigging
  • Must have complete knowledge on use and care of basic hand tools and power tools
  • Must have valid Driver’s License and the ability to obtain a DOT physical certification. CDL Class A certification a plus.
