A background in the oil & gas industry with a focus on midstream projects (pipelines, pump stations, compressor stations, metering stations, etc.) is strongly preferred. This is an in-office position in Houston, Texas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Overseeing the work of Senior Designers and CAD Designers while actively contributing to project deliverables.
  2. Ensuring project timelines and budgets are met while maintaining high-quality standards for all deliverables.

  4. Maintaining consistent quality, organization, and adherence to company standards across the design team.
  5. Overseeing the creation of detailed drawings and models, and contributing to drafting and modeling as needed.
  6. Assisting with project estimation, including manhour and deliverable estimates.
  7. Serving as a point of contact for design and drafting-related queries.
  8. Playing a pivotal role in the success of the design team and overall project execution.
  9. Overseeing development of 2D and 3D drawings and models for structural systems using AutoCAD, Cadworx Structure, and Civil 3D.
  10. Ensuring all deliverables meet project specifications and standards.
  11. Working with Senior Designers and CAD Designers to align deliverables with project goals.
  12. Ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and within budget, managing workloads and deadlines.
  13. Collaborating with external vendors to ensure drawings align with equipment and technical documentation.
  14. Performing quality checks on drawings and models to ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
  15. Addressing discrepancies or issues in design documents and resolving them.
  16. Delegating drafting and modeling tasks to team members, ensuring workload balance and efficiency.
  17. Providing guidance and mentorship to develop team skills and promote growth.
  18. Organizing and facilitating team meetings for clear communication of goals and priorities.
  19. Assisting in project estimation by calculating manhours and deliverables.
  20. Collaborating with project managers and engineers for resource allocation and project tracking.
  21. Addressing design issues or changes promptly, ensuring client alignment.
  22. Contributing to drafting and modeling, handling complex tasks or troubleshooting.
  23. Preparing deliverables for client submissions.
  24. Staying updated on industry standards, software, and drafting techniques.
  25. Participating in site visits as needed for data gathering.

Required Qualifications:
