Job Title: Civil/Structural Engineer 3 (Piping & Pipe Support)

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting fully remote direct hire opportunity for a Civil/Structural Engineer 3 (Piping & Pipe Support) with our client.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) pipe systems in accordance with ASME BPVC Section III and regulatory requirements.
• Generate technical requirements and design parameters for the modular advanced light water reactor (ALWR) NSSS within the NSSS design engineering organization.
• Utilize state-of-the-art methodologies to engineer NSSS components to nuclear industry standards.
• Complete all work under ASME NQA-1 quality assurance requirements and NRC guidelines.
• Perform design and stress analysis of piping supports using hand calculations or ANSYS, in accordance with ASME BPVC Section III NF and AISC.
• Perform piping design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 piping systems and B31.1 using Bentley AutoPIPE, NB, NC, ND-3600 standards.
• Conduct static and dynamic analysis, including response spectrum and time history analysis, for stresses due to various loads and events.
• Prepare and review engineering specifications, drawings, CAD models, collaborating with drafters and reviewing Siemens NX models.
• Offer design solutions such as piping re-route and support reconfiguration to meet stress criteria.
• Interpret scope and project requirements, and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum B.S. in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical preferred); P.E. certification is a plus.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, including experience with ASME Section III NF and AISC design, and stress analysis of piping systems.
• Experience with Bentley AutoPIPE and ANSYS preferred.
