Job summary

C&I Engineering in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Civil Structural Designer to join our Civil/Structural team and lead design work for refinery, distillery, and packaging facilities. This full-time role relocates to Salt Lake City and requires a 2-year CAD-focused technical degree with extensive related experience.

You will create 3D models and develop structural drawings for projects in oil & gas and food & beverage sectors.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree with a specialization in CAD and 10 years of related experience.
• Driver's license and ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Prepares design packages and construction scopes for complex projects.
• Coordinates information with other departments for proper coordination.
• Uses software to develop 3D models of structures in industrial facilities.
• Prepares structural steel and reinforced concrete drawings.
• Collaborates with engineers to ensure timely project completion.
• Reads documents, specs and reports to ensure accuracy.

About the opportunity: Civil Structural Designer

We are currently seeking a full-time Civil Structural Designer to help us achieve our company mission. This person will be part of the Civil/Structural team, which is responsible for developing designs for structural layouts in facilities such as refineries, distilleries, and consumer packaging facilities. C&I is an employee-owned, full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepares design packages, including construction scope of work, for complex projects that meet design intents and customer expectations.
• Identifies and obtains information needed from and by other departments for coordination purposes.
• Uses software to develop 3D models of structures used in industrial facilities.
• The Civil Structural Designer prepares structural steel and reinforced concrete design drawings.
• Works with other departments to ensure project is completed.
• Communicates with the engineers to coordinate plans.
• Reads documents, specifications, reports, and other materials to ensure work is accurate.
• 2-year technical degree with a specialization in computer-aided drafting and design, along with a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• Driver's license
• Ability to travel up to 10%
