WHAT WE NEED:

Civil/Structural Designer

The Civil/Structural Designer is responsible for creating detailed designs, drawings, and other components for civil and structural engineering projects. This role requires collaboration with engineers, project managers, design coordinators, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations. The Civil/Structural Designer will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the project team to develop innovative and efficient civil and structural designs for various projects, including buildings, bridges, infrastructure, and other related structures.
2. Create accurate and detailed technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software and other relevant design tools.
3. Ensure designs follow applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
4. Identify issues and recommend effective solutions to resolve problems or optimize existing designs.
5. Review and check designs for accuracy, completeness, quality, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
6. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, safety standards, and regulations throughout the design process.
7. Keep abreast of industry advancements, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in civil/structural engineering.
8. Provide technical support during construction, including responding to queries, reviewing shop drawings, and conducting site visits as needed.
9. Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure smooth integration of design elements within the overall project.
10. Create and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, test reports, SOPs, and project records.
11. Prepare project reports and presentations to communicate progress, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
12. Participate in developing engineering standards, best practices, and quality control procedures.
13. Collaborate with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to provide guidance and technical expertise.
14. Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and design methodologies to improve skills and practices.

WHO WE NEED:

• An associate degree or diploma in design, engineering technology, drafting, or related fields.
• Proficiency in CAD (e.g., AutoCAD), 3D modeling, and design software.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, codes, and regulations.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental considerations in design.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in consulting or engineering firms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpretation skills for engineering drawings.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
