Job summary

Frontier-Kemper Constructors, Inc. in Evansville, IN seeks a Civil/Structural Design Engineer to join the Engineering Division. The role involves design, analysis, and stamping of civil and structural systems for tunnel boring, mine shaft sinking, and related projects, with a focus on underground construction and hoisting equipment.

Required are a civil engineering degree (ABET-accredited) and 5+ years in underground/mining environments, plus a P.E. or eligibility to obtain one within 6 months.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in underground construction/miningor related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or eligible to register within 6 months.
• P.E. licensure in California desirable.
• Experience with IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI building and material codes.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and stamp civil/structural systems for tunnel boring, mine shaft sinking, and mine development projects.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Direct a project-based team in the development of engineering drawings.
• Travel to site as needed.
• Assist with modifications to existing equipment, systems, structures, and components.
• Provide technical support to the Civil, Mining and FKCI – Lake Shore Divisions.
