Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates in Aiken, SC is seeking a Civil/Structural Analyst to support the Savannah River Site. You will perform advanced structural analyses to validate design adequacy for normal operation and accident loading, including seismic SSI and dynamic analysis, and assess responses to extreme events.

Applicants should have an MS in Civil/Structural Engineering and PE registration (or be eligible), 8+ years of nuclear/industrial experience, and proficiency with STAAD, ANSYS,

Qualifications

  • MS or BS in Civil/Structural Engineering with PE or eligible for registration.
  • Minimum of eight years' experience in design/analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.
  • Working knowledge of national codes and standards (IBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI).
  • Ability to perform field walk-downs of structural systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced structural analyses to validate design adequacy for normal operation and accident loading.
  • Conduct seismic analyses (SSI, dynamic seismic, response spectra, time-history) and evaluate responses to wind, tornado, missiles, precipitation, and blasts.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with codes and standards.

Job description

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Civil/Structural Analyst opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.

Work Location: Aiken, SC

Civil/Structural Analyst-

Duties

  • Perform advanced structural analyses of various structures to validate their design adequacy for normal operation and accident loading conditions.
  • Advanced structural analytical capabilities include the ability to perform the following: Seismic Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI); dynamic seismic analysis (response spectra and time-history); development of in-structure seismic response spectra, and to evaluate structural responses for tornado winds, missile penetration, precipitation (rain, flood, snow), and explosion (blast/detonation and deflagration.

Education/Skills

  • MS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or BS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in the design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.
  • Working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS, SASSI, DYNA3D or similar computer codes.
  • A sound working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ASCE, ACI (318 & 349).
  • Must have the ability to perform field walk-downs of structural systems.
