Job summary

GHD is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to assist with the design, evaluation and retrofit of water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects. The role follows a hybrid work model in Harrisburg, with three days in-office to collaborate and grow within our energetic team.

You will participate in design calculations, prepare drawings, review specifications, and assist Project Engineers while developing knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master’s Degree is a plus
• 0-2 years of structural engineering experience; internship experience is a plus
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD; Revit knowledge a plus
• Knowledge of modeling and design software as applicable

Responsibilities

• Assisting Engineers by performing the routine aspects for engineering assignments
• Performing design calculations, sketches and technical comparisons
• Reviewing and editing project specifications
• Preparing and editing designs and drawings recommended by Project Engineers
• Preparing portions of project documents
• Researching code and regulatory requirements
• Researching design options, component specifications and document findings for Project Engineers and Job Manager
• Responding to contractor’s questions and preparing alternate designs as needed under the guidance of Project Engineers
• Performing analysis and design retrofit of new and existing utilities.

As a graduate Structural Engineer, you will assist with the engineering design, evaluation and implementation of structures associated water and wastewater infrastructure, industrial, property and building and government/department of defense projects.
