T&M Associates is seeking a Staff Designer 1 to join our Community Development team in Bloomfield, NJ. This is a great opportunity for an early-career civil engineer looking to build a strong foundation in both field and design work while gaining exposure to a variety of municipal and land development projects.
This role will initially have a strong field component, with responsibilities including construction inspection, site observations, field documentation, and coordination with contractors and municipal representatives. As part of the Community Development team, you will also gain hands‑on experience supporting civil engineering design and project delivery.
Additional responsibilities will include preparing reports, assisting with civil design for capital improvement and private development projects, and supporting senior engineers with planning and zoning board reviews, municipal design projects, contract documents, cost estimates, and technical specifications.
T&M Associates is committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation practices in compliance with applicable laws, including the New Jersey Equal Pay Act. T&M estimates that the salary range for this position will fall between $74,000–$80,000. The actual salary offered may vary within this range depending on factors including the candidate’s experience, education, skills and knowledge, internal pay equity, and geographic location.
