Job summary

New Terrain Grading, the sitework division of J. Davis Inc., seeks a full-time crew member to support grading operations on-site in the Southeast. You will perform manual labor, operate basic equipment under supervision, and help maintain a safe, organized job site across projects in SC, GA, and NC.

Candidates should be able to handle physical tasks, comply with safety protocols, and pass a drug test. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required; OSHA 10 is preferred with

Qualifications

• Must withstand the physical requirements of the job (standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs).
• OSHA 10 preferred; training available if needed.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Understand risks and safety hazards.
• Follow OSHA requirements and safety manuals.
• Interpret civil drawings and CEPSI Reports.
• Assist with erosion and storm water control practices.
• Attend daily safety hazard meetings and help prevent hazards.
• Support daily equipment maintenance checklists.
• Clean equipment and maintain a tidy job site daily.
• Operate Level One Equipment under supervision (skid steers, compaction equipment, mini excavators).
• Perform strenuous manual tasks to support grading operations (shoveling, raking, cutting, staking).
• Load/unload trucks and ensure safety and incident reporting.
• Assist with routine equipment maintenance (cleaning and greasing).
• Read equipment manuals and follow supervisor assessments.
