Job summary

Brunel is seeking a Civil Engineer Professional to support civil site development design for an Oil, Gas and Chemicals project in Houston, TX. The role focuses on civil site development and collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines and stakeholders.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, 6+ years of relevant experience, and a PE license. On-site, 1-year renewable contract, with responsibilities spanning design, coordination, and technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional engineering license in an appropriate engineering discipline from a recognized licensing board.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of civil engineering work.
• Perform civil site development design activities, including complex design and coordination requirements.
• Prepare and review civil site development deliverables, including concepts, drawings, calculations, and quantities.
• Use 2D and 3D CADD tools and appropriate engineering design applications.
• Prepare or assist with work specifications, technical bid evaluations, and award recommendations for subcontracts and material requisitions.
• Coordinate engineering activities with other engineering disciplines, clients, suppliers, and contractors.
• Review civil site development deliverables and technical documentation from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare or assist with conceptual studies, designs, reports, and proposals.
• Perform or assist with problem analysis and original civil site development design.
• Prepare or assist with cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.
• Review and check work produced by subordinate engineers.
• When delegated, provide technical leadership for specific engineering tasks or project subgroups.
• Provide technical direction and assign work to engineers, designers, drafters, technicians, and other personnel supporting assigned activities.
