Job Description:

Our Parsons Seattle office is now hiring for a Civil Engineer II - Civil Roadway to join our team! The primary role for this position will be to provide civil and roadway design support of a National Mega-Project, while also supporting local WSDOT and regional transportation projects long-term. This role can be virtually based anywhere in the USA, for experienced roadway design engineers!

What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Under the guidance of a more senior engineer, perform various roadway engineering and design assignments requiring the application of engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.
  2. Utilize drafting and 3D modeling software, tools, and programs, to develop conceptual and detailed designs.
  3. Perform design calculations including material quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates.
  4. Assist in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects.
  5. Provide input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project.
  6. Perform geometric design alignments for road and highway projects.
  7. Design of ramps, highways, and interchanges.
  8. Develop layouts for retaining walls and temporary roadways.
  9. Utilize Microstation.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) is required.
  2. 5 years or more experience with road and highway design.
  3. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is essential.
  4. Professional Engineer (PE) Registration is desirable, but not required.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  1. Proficiency in utilizing Microstation Open Roads Designer is preferred and experience with the Bentley design suite is essential.
  2. The ability to communicate and effectively participate as part of a large, diverse engineering team.
  3. Solid aptitude for learning more advanced design engineering skills.
  4. Excellent verbal communication skills.
  5. Willingness to work in an office team environment.

Salary Range:

$70,500.00 - $145,800.00.
