Job summary

The Roderick and Solange MacArthur Justice Center (MJC) invites current 1L/2L law students to apply for summer internships in Chicago, IL, New Orleans, LA, and Washington, DC. The program is hybrid, requiring 2–3 office days per week and a 40-hour week for 10 weeks (8 weeks may be considered).

Interns draft briefs, conduct legal research, work with clients, and assist on discovery, depositions, and hearings.

Qualifications

• JD students in good standing.
• Interest in civil rights and criminal justice reform.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced litigation environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft legal briefs and memoranda.
• Work with clients and organizations.
• Conduct community outreach.
• Research case law.
• Draft discovery and participate in expert discovery.
• Prepare for depositions and attend court hearings.
