Job summary

Cobar is seeking a civil rights attorney to focus on representing special needs kids and education-related civil rights matters. This litigation role involves trial work, and entry-level candidates with demonstrated civil rights involvement will be considered.

Both newer and experienced attorneys may receive pay increases plus a percentage of money collected on top of base salary. Public defenders, current and former, will be prioritized in selection.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required or equivalent.
• Bar admission in good standing preferred for Colorado/USA-based practice.
• Experience in civil rights or education law is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in civil rights education matters.
• Litigate cases through trial and appeal when necessary.
• Collaborate with public defenders or deputy officials on complex matters.

Job description

Civil rights attorney needed to focus on the representation of special needs kids and other civil rights matters involving kids and education. This is a litigation position and would involve trial work. Entry level candidates will be considered if they are immensely talented and have shown a history of being involved in civil rights work. Newer and experienced attorneys will be eligible for increased pay and a percentage of money collected on top of their base salaries.

Current and former public defenders go to the front of the line.
