Job description

ESP Associates is seeking a Project Manager with experience in civil engineering land development, infrastructure design, and construction document preparation for roads, storm drainage systems, storm water management facilities, utilities (water and sewer), and sediment and erosion control.

This position involves design and project management responsibilities within a team environment in the Cornelius, NC office. This is an excellent opportunity to advance your career with a dynamic engineering, surveying, and planning firm!

Responsibilities:

1. Develop strong relationships with team members.
2. Provide training and mentoring for junior team members.
3. Support engineering proposals with feedback to the Team Lead.
4. Assist with monthly invoicing for managed projects.
5. Contribute to project and staff scheduling discussions.
6. Engage in civil site/land development design, permitting, and construction observation for various projects.
7. Design land development projects using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D.
8. Prepare technical design calculations (e.g., storm drainage, water modeling, sewer systems, erosion control).
9. Review drawings, specifications, and calculations for conformance with project goals.
10. Conduct preliminary engineering evaluations, including quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
11. Perform site visits and compile field reports.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
2. EI/EIT Certification.
3. 5+ years of civil engineering design and project management experience.
4. PE licensure or pursuit thereof in North Carolina and/or South Carolina.
5. Proficiency in Civil 3D (especially corridors, grading, storm sewers), Hydraflow, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, and other relevant software.
6. Strong desire to learn and grow professionally in a fast-paced team environment.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Ability to pass drug screening, background checks, and maintain a good driving record.
