Job Description

Christman Constructors, Inc. (CCI) is an employee‑owned construction firm offering construction management, general contracting, and design‑build services across multiple market sectors.

What You Will Do
  • Lead in the development of high‑performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring; serve as a peer coach/mentor.
  • Ensure regular feedback is shared with staff, including timely completion of employee performance appraisals.
  • Provide leadership in motivating the project team and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Communicate with owners, architects, and subcontractors regarding project risks, schedules, costs/budgets, and change management.
  • Determine and define scope of work and deliverables.
  • Determine project staffing requirements and establish work plans and schedules for each project phase.
  • Prepare project manuals, work category descriptions, and other bid package components.
  • Manage the CM bid process, including post‑bid reviews, and serve as a team member on hard bid teams as needed.
  • Establish and clarify project‑specific goals related to schedule, safety, accounting, labor relations, EEO, and data processing/reporting.
  • Assess and maintain client relationships to understand construction leadership, facility maintenance, and other business needs throughout the contract and warranty period.
  • Manage owner communications related to project risks, schedules, budgets, and logistics.
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of project planning services—estimating, scheduling, value engineering, reporting—together with the Project Planning Leader.
  • Oversee timely and accurate processing of all project information documents relating to the contract, bulletins, field work orders, and change orders.
  • Review client needs against contractual obligations and ensure proper service delivery by the Christman team, contractors, vendors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Establish subcontractor agreements and scopes; communicate expectations regarding planning, coordination, safety, and quality.
  • Clarify expectations and performance requirements in written project documents and through presentations at pre‑bid conferences, post‑bid meetings, pre‑installation meetings, and other interactions.
  • Lead trade contractor relations and drive safety awareness at all times.
  • Observe safety practices on site and promptly address unsafe situations or behaviors; report violations and coordinate corrective actions with the project team.
What You Will Bring to the Team
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of commercial construction experience in progressively responsible leadership roles.
  • Successful completion of courses or training in Construction Management, Project Management, Safety, or Communication (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
  • Authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship of visas will not be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional experience, knowledge, or skills in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
