Job summary

Lumos & Associates, a leading civil and structural engineering firm, seeks an experienced Project Manager for our Civil Engineering practice. The role will lead a diverse portfolio across transportation, water, municipal, stormwater, and development projects in northern NV, northern CA, and southern ID.

The ideal candidate holds a CA-licensed P.E., with 7+ years of relevant experience, strong leadership, client communication, and budget management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive, relevant engineering and project management experience.
  • P.E. license in California (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage civil engineering projects from planning through design and construction.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, agencies, and project partners.
  • Provide technical oversight and QA/QC review.
  • Mentor and support early in career staff and project engineers.
  • Assist with business development, including proposals and client relationship management.

Within our Civil Engineering practice, we are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to lead and support a wide variety of civil engineering projects across multiple sectors, including transportation, water/wastewater, community infrastructure, stormwater, and private development. We have opportunities available in Northern Nevada, Northern California, and Southern Idaho offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage civil engineering projects from planning through design and construction.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, agencies, and project partners.
  • Provide technical oversight and QA/QC review.
  • Mentor and support early in career staff and project engineers.
  • Assist with business development, including proposals and client relationship management.
Project Scope
  • Water distribution and wastewater systems (preferred)
  • Stormwater and drainage infrastructure
  • Municipal and public works projects
  • Transportation-related projects, including trails, roadway rehabilitation, and new roadway design
  • Land development and site design for private development and public/institutional projects

Ideal Candidate
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects.
  • Solid communication skills, including client interaction and public presentations.
  • Experience developing project budgets and managing financial performance.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to lead and mentor teams.
  • Experience delivering projects within one or more of our core market sectors, including transportation, water/wastewater, community infrastructure, stormwater, and private development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive, relevant engineering and project management experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in California (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe).
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Valid driver license and driving record with 3 or fewer demerit points.

California salary pay range: $140,000 USD - $185,000 USD
