Job summary

Verdantas seeks a Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead municipal, commercial, residential, and institutional projects across New Hampshire. You’ll manage design, permitting, client relationships, and the workload of technical staff, while contributing to business development under senior leadership.

This hybrid, full-time role offers professional growth, cross-office collaboration, and a pathway to expand Verdantas’ NH presence with occasional travel and field work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
• 6–12 years of civil engineering experience; NH design/permitting preferred.
• PE license preferred; PMP or related PM certification preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D and HydroCAD or similar tools.
• Strong project management skills and field work ability.

• Oversee civil engineering design for municipal, commercial, residential, and institutional projects.
• Prepare reports and permit applications related to civil engineering projects.
• Manage project plans, resources, budgets, and timelines.
• Lead project teams and coordinate with managers and staff across phases.

Verdantas is looking for a dynamic Civil Engineering Project Manager to help drive our expanding portfolio of projects in New Hampshire. This position can be located in any of our NH offices, including; Hanover, Littleton, Manchester, New London, Newmarket, North Conway, or Ossipee.

In this role, you’ll oversee a variety of engineering and design initiatives for both private and municipal clients, while managing project delivery, client relationships, and the workload of technical staff. You’ll also contribute to marketing efforts and business development under the guidance of senior leadership. What You’ll Do:

• Oversee civil engineering design of municipal, commercial, residential, and institutional projects, including site design and permitting

• Prepare reports and permit applications related to civil engineering projects

• Design and manage various civil engineering-related projects, including drainage collection, detention, and treatment systems, water and wastewater systems, roads and parking areas, pedestrian facilities, stream crossings, and other related project types

• Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation

• Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, ensuring they are used efficiently and effectively

• Monitor project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and financial objectives are met

• Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact

• Communicate project status, updates, and key milestones to stakeholders and senior management

• Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, meeting the required quality standards

• Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and records

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field

• 6-12 years of professional experience in the practice of civil engineering; New Hampshire design and permitting experience preferred

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

• PMP or related Project Management certification, preferred

• Experience with AutoCAD design software, including Civil3D

• Experience with HydroCAD stormwater analysis software or similar

• Technical experience and sound understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, including stormwater/drainage design, surface water hydrology, water and wastewater systems, culvert design, and roadway/parking design

• Project management experience, or management ability, and willingness to learn

• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle; occasional travel required

• Ability to complete field work, including carrying equipment and walking on an undeveloped site

Salary Range:

The compensation range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000, with final compensation determined based on years of experience, qualifications, and licensing status.
