A specialized contractor in Chicago is looking for a Civil Construction Project Manager to manage projects from award to closeout. Pay:

$90,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year

Location

This is an on‑site role based in the Chicago area, with involvement in both office coordination and project site activity as needed to help keep work moving efficiently.

Note:

Must have direct project management experience in civil construction, heavy civil, foundations, concrete, earthwork, drilling, or closely related work. Candidates without directly relevant construction project management experience will not be considered.

Job Description
  • Manage civil and foundation construction projects from award through closeout
  • Coordinate schedules, field activities, subcontractors, vendors, equipment, and materials
  • Partner with estimating and operations to ensure a smooth handoff and strong project startup
  • Track project budgets, cost exposure, production progress, and change orders
  • Review plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and contract requirements
  • Communicate with clients, field leadership, and internal teams to keep projects aligned on scope, schedule, and expectations
  • Support site logistics, sequencing, and problem‑solving throughout the project lifecycle
  • Monitor project documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Help drive timely billing, forecasting, and overall project performance
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of directly relevant civil construction project management experience
  • Strong background in heavy civil, foundations, concrete, earthwork, sitework, or drilling preferred
  • Able to manage budgets, schedules, documentation, and field coordination
