Job summary

IMEG Corp in Leesburg, VA is seeking a Civil Project Designer 1 to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer on low to moderate complexity projects. You will work with a team of engineers to deliver practical civil site designs, permit-ready drawings, and cost-aware solutions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with senior staff, budgeting and scheduling tasks, and ongoing mentoring of staff. A strong background in Civil 3D and client communication is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent required.
• EIT certification preferred or working toward licensure.
• 3–4+ years of building design consulting experience (or 7–8 years with an Associates).
• Proficiency with Civil 3D, pipe networks, and road design standards.
• Strong communication, mentoring, and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and train Civil Design Technicians on reports, plans, and permit apps.
• Lead civil site design efforts for commercial, residential, industrial projects.
• Oversee permit applications with municipalities and reviewing agencies.
• Manage bidding and construction administration phases.
• Collaborate with clients and teams to meet project goals and budgets.
• Monitor progress, document design decisions, and communicate status.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across design work.
