Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer - Transportation to support our Southwest Region across Houston, McKinney, Rockwall, Round Rock, San Antonio, or Tyler, TX. You will handle geometric design and coordinate with TXDOT and local agencies on project delivery.

The role requires a B.S./M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, 4+ years of relevant experience, and a Licensed PE.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 4+ years relevant experience
• Licensed PE
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory MVR
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening per federal guidelines

Responsibilities

• Prepares and modifies reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental studies, and designs for projects
• Evaluates need for design changes and makes appropriate recommendations
• Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability
• Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
• Adheres to company QA/QC standards
• Submits documents to agencies for code compliance review and obtains permits

We are currently searching for an experienced Civil Project Engineer - Transportation to support our Southwest Region located ineither Houston, McKinney, Rockwall, Round Rock, San Antonio, or Tyler, TX.

You will be responsible for geometric design projects including but not limited to TXDOT and local government.

What you'll be doing:

• Prepares and modifies reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental studies, and designs for projects
• Evaluates need for design changes and makes appropriate recommendations
• Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability as related to field conditions, sequencing and scheduling of construction activities
• Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
• Adheres to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manual
• Submits documents to federal, state, and local agencies for code compliance review and obtains permits required

What you need to have:

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
• 4+ years relevant experience
• Licensed PE
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
