Job summary

Andersen James Group in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Project Engineer – Civil Land Development to lead design work on K-12, commercial, institutional, and site development projects in Central and South Texas. You’ll collaborate with experienced managers and leaders to deliver quality engineering solutions.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, 3+ years of land development experience, and strong Civil 3D skills, with EIT/PE considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably land/site development.
• Experience with K-12, commercial, institutional, or residential development is a plus.
• Strong proficiency with Civil 3D; knowledge of grading, drainage, utilities, paving, stormwater.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and design of civil site development projects from concept through construction.
• Prepare grading, drainage, utility, paving, and stormwater design plans.
• Develop engineering reports, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
• Work closely with senior engineers and project managers on project delivery.
• Coordinate with architects, developers, municipalities, school districts, and regulatory agencies.
• Assist with permitting and navigating local development requirements.
• Review plans and technical documents for accuracy and quality.
• Communicate with clients and project stakeholders throughout the design process.
• Support project schedules, budgets, and overall project coordination.
• Have opportunities to take on increasing project management responsibilities as you grow.
