Job summary

Bohler's DC office is seeking a Project Engineer to advance technical and professional growth while leading site design, grading, drainage, and utility work for diverse commercial, residential, and industrial projects in the DC metro area. You will collaborate with managers, mentors, and cross-functional teams to shape project delivery and client success.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in civil/site design, strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills, and a PE/EIT trajectory.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of civil/site design, grading, drainage and permitting experience.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• PE license preferred; EIT required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate site layouts, grading, drainage, and utility systems for complex projects.
• Analyze zoning regulations, site conditions, and environmental constraints to guide design decisions.
• Perform stormwater management and hydrology calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to deliver cohesive design packages.
• Review technical reports, construction documents, and cost estimates.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist in technical training and quality review.
• Support client communication, permitting efforts, and coordination with review agencies.

What Youll Bring

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in civil/site design, grading, drainage, and permitting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater management design software.
• Strong understanding of local zoning, site development processes, and regulatory standards.
• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• PE license preferred; EIT required or in progress.

Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience. The base pay range for this role is $95,000 - $125,000 per year.
