Job Description

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Water & Wastewater candidate to join our Water & Wastewater Group located in our Charlotte, NC office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  1. Design portions of projects using relevant office software, modeling, and Civil 3D technology.
  2. Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills, and utilize computers to solve problems.
  3. Prepare specifications and materials through research and equipment catalogs to specify materials, installation, inspection, and payment items specific to a project.
  4. Work to complete design details and plan sets.
  5. Perform research and write objective summary reports used in project work or inspections.
  6. Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates.
  7. Conduct field observation, inspection, and data collection as directed by senior engineering staff.
  8. Communicate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff.

Skills and Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  1. A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
  2. Ideally, coursework or professional experience related to water civil engineering.
  3. EIT or PE certification preferred.
  4. At least 2 years of experience in civil engineering design.
  5. Working knowledge of CADD and/or Civil 3D software (Civil 3D preferred).
