Job description

Company Description

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Roadway Design Transportation Group candidate to join our Roadway Design Transportation Group located in our Raleigh, NC office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  1. Lay out horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for road widening projects
  2. Model and design roadway improvement projects using AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer
  3. Use 3D visualization software for client and public communication presentations
  4. Develop plan sheets and compile project packages for submission
  5. Complete roadway and drainage calculations utilizing appropriate software and reference materials
  6. Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates
  7. Research and download available GIS open-source data
  8. Conduct field observations and data collection for office use and project discussions
  9. Learn new technologies to enhance skills and group knowledge
  10. Attend project meetings with clients and contractors

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  1. A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a closely related field
  2. At least two years of experience in transportation civil engineering related to roadway design preferred
  3. Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer preferred
  4. Proficiency in AutoDesk Civil 3D preferred
  5. VDOT experience preferred
  6. EIT certification preferred
