Job description

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Energy & Renewables Group located in Plano, TX. Projects focus on land development for utility-scale wind and solar farm projects across the country. Typical tasks include road design, crane path design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, mass grading, erosion and sediment control design, and field reconnaissance. The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of hydrology experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design project components using relevant software, modeling, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Perform calculations and problem-solving using engineering formulas and computer tools.
• Prepare comprehensive reports with text and exhibits.
• Develop specifications through research and catalogs for materials, installation, inspection, and payment.
• Complete design details and plan sets.
• Conduct research and write summary reports for project completion or inspection.
• Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates.
• Perform field observation, inspection, and data collection as directed.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams under supervision.

Skills/Requirements:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• At least 2 years of hydrologic and hydraulic experience preferred.
• EIT certification preferred.
• CFM certification preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
