Job description

Civil Project Engineer II/III - Land Development

Timmons Group is currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Land Development candidate to join our Public Land Development Group located in our Charlotte, NC office. Project Engineer II/III are Civil Engineers with 2 to 10 years of experience. The qualified individual will perform site development engineering and project management tasks for residential and commercial projects. Candidates should have experience with site civil design, permitting, and software applications including AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Projects will include a variety of land development site designs. Responsibilities include research, coordination, task management, and team collaboration on design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design project components using relevant software, modeling, and Civil 3D technology
• Perform calculations using engineering formulas and computer tools to solve problems
• Prepare specifications and materials through research and manufacturing catalogs
• Develop design details and plan sets
• Conduct research and write summary reports for project work or inspections
• Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates
• Perform field observation, inspection, and data collection as directed
• Communicate with clients and internal teams as directed

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• At least two years of experience in Land Development civil engineering, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects; entry-level candidates are also considered
• EIT certification preferred
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required
