Job summary

Louisville Gas and Electric Company is seeking a Civil/Construction engineer to join the Project Engineering department in Louisville, KY. The role emphasizes safety, design, and execution of heavy industrial process systems for major capital projects, with travel as needed.

You will review documents, manage contracts, and advise management while coordinating with engineers, construction managers, procurement, and other stakeholders to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Construction engineering.

Responsibilities

• Passion for safety; Ensure all mechanical systems adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Spearhead the design and execution of heavy industrial process systems.
• Collaborate and advise the project manager on scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation across multiple, complex projects.
• Maintain adherence to project design, quality standards, budget, and schedule throughout execution.
• Work closely with engineers, construction managers, procurement specialists, and other key stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Manage the activities of contractors and suppliers to meet project specifications.
