Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager and senior staff on a Belle Glade, Florida project and future national assignments. You will help manage day-to-day project tasks, review drawings, schedules and RFIs, and coordinate with subcontractors while upholding safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in construction, a related bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and proficiency with Primavera and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction.
• Proficient with Primavera and MS Office suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Support a team consisting of Project Manager, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and other staff.
• Review shop drawings, submittals and schedules, and process RFIs.
• Monitor the quality control, safety and environmental programs.
• Assist with monthly billings, cash flow projections, and process change orders.
• Manage document control including submittals, schedules, contract documents, and shop drawings.
• Assist with delivery, inventory, and warehousing of materials and equipment.
• Resolve field problems and conflicts with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce.
• Instill safety as a top priority.
• Maintaining as-built drawings & manuals.
• Attend and/or lead meetings.
