Job Summary: The Civil Project Engineer / Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) will support RLG clients by providing technical expertise in design, calculations, drawing preparation, and submission of Civil Engineering Documents.

Supervisory Responsibilities: The Civil Project Engineer / Civil EIT works under the supervision and guidance of one or more Professional Engineers (PE) or Project Managers (PM).

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Perform civil design tasks assigned by project managers, including drainage and grading calculations, research, etc.
• Design, engineer, and coordinate utilities and grading for project sites, utilizing drafting software, existing drawings, topography, city standards, and surveying data.
• Assist with CAD drawing updates and modifications based on project manager and/or design engineer markups.
• Ensure construction plans are drafted accurately according to RLG standards and city guidelines.
• Research local design requirements to ensure compliance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required Skills / Abilities:

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D; eagerness to learn and improve skills.
• Practical experience in applying, modifying, and adapting civil engineering standards, techniques, and procedures; eagerness to learn accepted practices.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (required)
• EIT Certification
• Previous experience in engineering and/or land development

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Ability to visit project sites as necessary for troubleshooting and quality assurance.
