Job summary

Fermilab is seeking a Civil Engineer within our Infrastructure Services Directorate. The candidate will plan and perform engineering tasks for medium to large civil projects, ensuring compliance with DOE orders and all applicable regulations.

Plans will include equipment design, material testing, and developing designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (ABET), FE exam eligibility for PE, and a minimum of 6 years of professional experience in civil

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• Passed the FE Exam and eligible to sit for the PE test.
• Minimum of 6-years of professional experience in civil project design or project management, DOE Lab or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes data and performs engineering calculations.
• Develops designs of specific parts or phases of a project.
• Prepares drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and is proficient with the software.
• Plans medium to large projects from inception to completion and manages manpower.
