IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer in our South Dakota office. As a Civil Project Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis in the preparation of reports, permit applications, and construction plans. You will also direct and train Civil Design Technicians and/or Civil Designers.

The role involves evaluating, planning, and executing work that requires judgment in the adaptation of standard techniques, devising new approaches, and performing technically challenging work within a specialty area. You may lead certain projects or oversee parts of larger projects.

Some key duties include:

• Drafting procedures and system requirements for clients;
• Using various design software;
• Coordinating with municipal, transportation, traffic, and other disciplines;
• Completing permit applications for various municipalities;
• Designing flexible and rigid pavements;
• Designing geometric pavement and site circulation;
• Preparing specifications and cost estimates;
• Assessing traffic and guardrail warrants;
• Supervising and training Civil Designers in reports, plans, and permit applications.

Required skills and abilities:

• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans and drawings;
• Understanding of construction materials and methods;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D;
• Strong communication skills;
• Ability to interpret design criteria and produce high-quality documents.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering;
• Professional Engineer license;
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
