LPA, Inc. is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join our California studios. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, engineer, and deliver civil solutions for a variety of projects and communities.

This role emphasizes technical excellence, mentorship, and leadership within a forward‑thinking firm. The position requires a PE license in California, 8+ years of experience, and proficiency in CAD and Civil 3D, with a passion for sustainable, high‑performance design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
• 8+ years of experience across all phases of civil projects.
• Professional Engineer license in California required.
• Proficiency in CAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong knowledge of engineering software and collaborative design.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and develop civil engineering solutions with project teams.
• Contribute to project strategy, schedules, and coordination for success.
• Prepare and oversee documentation from schematic design to construction documents.
• Support construction administration, respond to RFIs and review submittals.
• Mentor junior designers and foster technical growth.
• Engage with professional organizations and advance the profession.

We’re currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. You’ll be part of a culture that values deep collaboration, technical excellence, and continual growth. As a member of our civil engineering team, you will work on a broad range of projects. Examples of completed projects include Edwards Lifesciences, County of Orange Administration, and San Marcos High School. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across our studios in California and Texas—and help bring high-performance, community-first design to life.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with multidisciplinary project teams to plan, design, and develop civil engineering solutions.
• Contribute to overall project strategy, schedules, and coordination to support project success.
• Prepare and oversee documentation for schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
• Support construction administration efforts, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals.
• Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering technical growth and collaboration.
• Actively participate in professional organizations and contribute to the advancement of the profession.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience across all phases of civil engineering projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
• Proficiency in CAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong technical knowledge of industry-standard engineering software.
• Enthusiasm for a multidisciplinary design process and collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead civil design efforts with guidance from Project Managers and Directors.
