Job summary

AE2S is seeking a Civil Project Engineer in Bismarck, ND to deliver water treatment, reuse and optimization solutions for municipal clients. You will work with an empowered team of Employee-Owners to produce high-quality deliverables on time and on budget.

Responsibilities include design and coordination with sub-consultants, client relationship management, and supporting business development while maintaining project budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 4+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering, with a strong interest in the water market sector.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development.
• Ability to work remotely and manage projects, clients, and project team members.
• Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Knowledge of design standards and permitting.
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search)

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary staff resources and sub-consultants to deliver high quality projects that meet or exceed clients expectations.
• Maintain existing client relationships and enhance pursued relationships with clients
• Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work
• Maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments
• Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings
• Collaborate across a multi-disciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
• 8+ years of experience in municipal Civil engineering (Drinking Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, Water Resources)
• Knowledge of project financials & funding programs

Physical Qualifications

• Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
• Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
• May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
• May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
• May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
